For the benefit of new parents / guardians of learners at Cape Town High School in 2018, we include a PDF file of the Waltons Order Form for the School's Grade Eight Stationery Requirements List.

For those parents who decide to make use of this convenient stationery supply facility, please return your Order Form, with payment, to the school by Wednesday, 1 November 2017.

Stationery parcels will be available for collection from Cape Town High School on Wednesday, 29 November 2017 between 10h00 and 14h00.

CTHS School & Leisure Relocating - 27 July '17

The Schoolwear supplier School & Leisure are relocating their current shop's location on the 3rd Floor at Rondebosch Main, to the next level up on the 4th floor of the same building. They will be at this new location for at least three years.

They will be closed between Thursday 9 August and Monday 14 August 2017 while the relocation takes place.

CTHS Wins Awards For Improved Matric Results - 2 Mar '17

On Thursday 2 March 2017, the Cape Metro Central Education district held their first Matric Improvement Results Awards Ceremony at the Old Mutual in Pinelands, Cape Town.

At this event, which was attended by Cape Town High School's principal, Staff Representatives and members of the CTHS School Management Team, our School was presented with no less than three awards for maintaining top Matriculation results.

The first award was for an improvement in Subject marks.
The second award was for maintaining a 100% Pass Rate in certain subjects.
The third award (the trophy) was for maintaining a high percentage of Batchelors Passes since 2014.

CTHS Principal Mr Emilton Cloete accepted the awards along with Ms Liesl van Egeren, Mrs Fayrooz Matthews, Ms Charlene Petersen and Mr Mandla Sibanda at the prestigious ceremony.

Further proof that Cape Town High School is not resting on its laurels, but progressing towards its goal to provide quality education as a centre of excellence.

CTHS School Fees Policy - Jan '17

You are hereby notified of the following important matters regarding the payment of school fees.
  1. Following the AGM of Cape Town High School's School Governing Body, held at 17h30 on 21 November 2016, the school fees for 2017 were determined in accordance with resolutions and proposals put forward and voted on by all parents present, and in accordance with Section 39 of the South African Schools Act of 1996.

    The annual School fees for 2017 are R7300.00 per learner, payable in advance. An additional R100.00 for SMSWEB is due on 11 January 2017.
    This figure excludes textbooks/workbooks, excursions, extra-murals, tours, etc.

    Books supplied by the Western Cape Education Department remain the property of Cape Town High School and must be returned, in good condition,  to the school at the end of the financial year. The parent/learner are liable for any lost or damaged books and must reimburse the school for the replacement value of the books.
  2. Cape Town High School is a "Fee-Paying" School in terms of the South African Schools Act. All parents are obliged to pay the prescribed fees in terms of Section 40 of the South African Schools Act, 1996 (See paragraph 6 below).
  3. School fees must be paid using one of the following options:

    OPTION A:
    R 6570.00: (R 7300.00 less a 10% discount of  R730.00) IF paid on or before 31 March 2007.
    Any account settled after the above discount date will not qualify for a discount.

    OPTION B:
    R 7300.00, comprising 4 (four) equal payments of R 1825.00 each, commencing on or before 11 January 2017, 18 April 2017, 24 July 2017 and 9 October 2017.

    OPTION C:
    R 7300.00, comprising 10 (ten) equal payments of R 730.00 each, commencing on or before 11 January 2017, with the final payment on or before 31 October 2017.
  4. Discounts:

    A  discount of R 500.00 will be granted to parents who have two or more learners in Cape Town High School at the same time. In this instance school fees will be payable as follows:
    Learner 1: R 7300.00; Learner 2: R 6800.00; Learner 3: R 6300.00; Learner 4: R 5800.00; Learner 5: 5300.00.

    Terms and conditions are attached to such discounts.

CBHS National Senior Certificate Results - 6 Jan '17

The Matric Class of 2016 has done Cape Town High School proud again!

For the past three years, Cape Town High School has managed to mantain an average of 94% Matric Pass Rate!

Thank you to the matriculants for all their hard work and dedication. The teachers were instrmental in ensuring that we maintain this average. The School Governing Body are indeed proud of these achievements.
