CTHS Award for Academic Performance Improvement - 18 Feb '16

We are proud to announce that on 18 Feb 2016, Cape Town High School received an award from the Western Cape Education Department for the improvement in academic performance of its Grade 9 learners in 2015.

The award is titled:
"Overall Improvement in Academic Performance: Grade 9 Schools
with an enrollment of less than 600 learners
2015 WCED Language and Mathematics Systemic Tests"

This award illustrates how Cape Town High is moving steadily to its goal to become a centre of excellence in those relevant subjects.

On behalf of Cape Town High, Principal. Mr E. M. Cloete accepted the award from Ms Penny Vinjefold
(Head of Education, Western Cape) and Ms Debbie Schaffer (MEC of Education, Western Cape) at a presentation recently.

Heartiest congratulations to the learners who wrote the tests, and to the Mathematics educators who took them for the subject.

CTHS Leutzinger Maths / Science Prize - Jun '15

Cape Town High School is very grateful to the Leutzinger family for their extremely generous financial support for the following exciting Mathematics / Science Prizes, as described in the poster below.

As can be seen, the prizes are substantial and should provide great incentive for our learners to excel in their Mathematics and Science studies, skills in which fields are crucial for South Africa's technological development.

This competition is open exclusively to Grade Eleven learners at Cape Town High School only.

To qualify, a Grade Eleven learner at CTHS must achieve an aggregate mark of above 75% for both the Mathematics and Science subjects.
